Join the MOOvement in 2017!
We will be launching an exciting new event in 2017! Sign up for our alerts to learn how you can join with thousands from across the country in the powerful movement that is raising funds and changing hearts for farm animals. Until then, you can still help support Farm Sanctuary.
Take a step closer to a more compassionate world at the 2016 Chicago Walk for Farm Animals and Fun Run!
Join the movement on October 1, 2016 at Grove 13 near Belmont Harbor to raise funds and awareness for farm animals. Come with friends, family, and neighbors for a two-mile walk or run along Chicago’s lakefront. Registration will begin at 7:45 a.m. The Opening Ceremony with Farm Sanctuary President and Co-founder Gene Baur will begin at 8:45 a.m. followed by the Walk and Fun Run. This will be the only Walk for Farm Animals event in 2016.
After the Walk, participants will gather at the eighth annual Chicago VeganMania for a daylong celebration of compassionate living, including a presentation from Gene at 11 a.m. at the Main Presentation Stage. At 1 p.m., Gene will participate in a panel discussion on “Plant-Powered Fitness” with David Carter (“The 300 Pound Vegan”); author and fitness trainer John Pierre; and author, runner, and coach Ellen Jaffe-Jones.*
The top fundraisers (as of September 23) will receive special recognition at an exclusive dinner with Gene, hosted by the legendary Chicago Diner.

Living the Farm Sanctuary Life
We all start somewhere. For Farm Sanctuary, it started with Hilda, a sheep who had been discarded on a pile of dead animals behind a stockyard because she was too sick to stand. She came to Farm Sanctuary, made a full recovery, and enjoyed a long happy life.
